Read and reply to the replies your contacts send

See replies to your emails in one place, answer them as your business, and check whether an email you sent actually arrived.

Open this screen in the app ↗

The Inbox collects the replies your contacts send back to your emails, and keeps a log of every email your workspace has sent out.

Open the Inbox

  1. Click Email in the left menu, then Inbox.
  2. Read the coloured bar under the title. Workspace inbox connected means replies are arriving. Workspace inbox setup pending means they are not yet.
  3. Click Conversations to read replies, or Email activity to see what you have sent.
  4. Click Refresh for the newest messages immediately. The page also reloads itself once a minute.

Reply to someone

  1. Click the conversation in the left-hand list. Opening it marks it read and clears the blue unread count.
  2. Read the thread. Messages from you sit on the right, messages from your contact on the left.
  3. Type your answer in the Write a reply... box.
  4. Check the line under the box — it names the address your reply will be sent from.
  5. Click Reply.
  6. Click Close when the conversation is finished. Click Reopen if it starts up again.
Important

Reply stays greyed out until the bar at the top says Workspace inbox connected — receiving replies is switched on for your workspace by the platform team. Until then your outgoing email still works normally; replies go to the address set in your sender settings instead of appearing here.

Check whether an email arrived

The Email activity tab lists what your workspace sent — campaigns, sequences, automations and course notifications — newest first.

The Email activity tab. Each row is one email to one person. diagram
  1. Click Email activity.
  2. Type a name or address into Search email activity to find one person.
  3. Click All, Engaged or Failed to narrow the list.
  4. Read the Status column for that row. If something went wrong, the reason appears in red under the row.
  • Engaged — Shows only emails that were opened or clicked.
  • Failed — Shows only emails that failed, bounced, or were reported as spam.
  • Bounced — The address rejected the email. That contact will not be emailed again.
Note

This tab shows the most recent 150 emails. For totals per campaign or per sequence, use the reports inside the Campaigns and Sequences screens.
