Use a ready-made email template, or save your own

Templates are finished emails you can drop straight into a campaign — the library comes with several, and you can copy, edit and save your own.

A template stores a subject line and an email body you can reuse. Using one fills in a new campaign for you instead of starting from a blank page.

Find and preview a template

  1. Click Email in the left menu, then Templates.
  2. Type into Search templates... to filter by name or subject.
  3. Click All, Sales, Nurture, Onboarding, Post-Purchase or Custom to filter by category.
  4. Click a template's thumbnail to open the full preview.
Note

In the preview, variables are shown filled in with sample details — {{first_name}} appears as "Priya". Anything in [square brackets] is highlighted in yellow: those are the parts you replace with your own details before sending.

Use a template in a campaign

  1. Click Use in Campaign on the card, or in the preview. It opens a brand-new campaign with the template's name, subject, preview text and body already filled in.
  2. Replace anything in [square brackets] with your own details.
  3. Choose your recipients and send, as in any other campaign.
Note

You can reach the same templates from inside the campaign builder — click Templates in the Content step. That replaces the campaign's current subject and body, so use it before you start writing, not after.

Make a template of your own

  1. Click Create Template.
  2. Type a Template Name — this is how you will find it later.
  3. Choose a Category.
  4. Type your Subject Line.
  5. Write the email in the box below.
  6. Click Insert Variable and pick a variable to drop it into the body.
  7. Click Preview to check how it reads, then click Save.

Save stays greyed out until the name, the subject line and the body all have something in them.

A Ready-made template cannot be changed in place. Clicking the pencil on one creates a copy called "(My version)" and opens that for editing, leaving the original untouched. Ready-made templates also have no bin icon — only your own templates can be deleted.

Sequence emails fill in {{first_name}}, {{email}} and {{phone}} only — a template written with {{tag}}, {{company}} or {{date}} is for campaign use, not for pasting into a sequence.
