Connect your WhatsApp number
Link a WhatsApp Business number to your workspace so you can send templates and reply to leads.
Open this screen in the app ↗The WhatsApp Settings screen links a WhatsApp Business number to your workspace. Until that link exists, every WhatsApp screen is look-only: the send button reads Connect WhatsApp first to send messages, and the reply box in the Inbox stays switched off.
You need a phone number that is not signed in to the ordinary WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business phone app, and a Facebook login. Once connected, the number can't stay active on the regular WhatsApp phone app, and Meta bills message charges directly to your own card.
If WhatsApp does not appear in the left menu, the feature is not switched on for your workspace — that is an account setting, not something this screen controls.

Connect with Facebook
- Open WhatsApp in the left menu and click Settings.
- Click Connect with Facebook. A Facebook window opens on top of the page.
- Log in to Facebook and choose the business you want to use.
- Choose an existing WhatsApp number or create a new one, then finish Meta's verification code step.
- Wait for the Facebook window to close on its own, and stay on the Settings page while the app finishes.
On success a confirmation shows the connected number, the badge at the top right changes to Connected, and the app pulls your approved templates across from Meta.
Closing the Facebook window before it finishes leaves you disconnected. Start again from Connect with Facebook.
If Meta returns a warning during the connection — often because the number already has its own two-step PIN — the badge keeps reading Not Connected even though the number was stored. Sending and replying stay locked until a later connection attempt comes back clean.
If you see "Request activation" instead
Some workspaces show We'll connect WhatsApp for you and a Request activation button instead of the Facebook option. Click it once; the button changes to Requested and the team connects your business number within 24 hours.

What the connected screen shows
The connected screen shows the Connected / Not Connected badge, a Disconnect button (switches WhatsApp off for your workspace without unlinking the number at Meta or deleting the saved details), your WABA ID, and a Webhook tile that reads pending, verified or failed.
Advanced setup: pasting Meta IDs by hand
Click Advanced setup (paste Meta IDs manually) only if someone has given you the identifiers from Meta, or you are repairing a connection. Fill in the Phone Number ID and WABA ID, invent a strong random Verify Token, then paste the read-only Meta Callback URL and the same token into Meta's WhatsApp configuration.
Test & Save Connection stays greyed out until both Phone Number ID and WABA ID are filled, and it saves what you typed even when Meta rejects it. A red line under the panel is Meta's own wording for the problem, and your workspace still counts as not connected until it clears.
The Webhook tile only turns to verified after Meta calls your workspace back with the matching Verify Token. Until then, incoming messages will not reach your Inbox.
